There are many circumstances under which a computer can fail, and you need to find a good computer technician
The question is, where do you go to find the computer technician? There are many options out there, some being more expensive than others. What you need to do is determine the best solution for you and make sure that it is the right one. Before you commit your system to the care of someone else, you might want to check their credentials. If it is a simple problem, it probably has a simple solution, but if it is a little more complicated then you might expect the individual working on your machine to have a little more experience.

A good thing to look for is A+ Certification. Though by itself it's not a huge deal, it does indicate that the computer technician knows what they're doing. Designed by CompTIA, the A+ certification test covers every single aspect regarding computers, including laptops, batteries, printers, scanners, networks, security, and much more. Someone who has this type of certification is going to have the knowledge required to help you with any PC problem that could arise.
Here are a few of the options available to you:
Do it Yourself: If you trust yourself enough you can try to do the repairs on your own. You may need to read a few books or even take some classes. It's really not incredibly hard, but make sure you take it slow. If it's a problem you can't fix, then take it to a professional technician!

A Friend or Neighbor: If you know someone that can do the repairs for you that's great. The most important thing though is to make sure that they actually know what they're doing. In other words, make sure they're not standing on a shag carpet wearing fur gloves and shuffling their feet while they're working on your system.
go to Friends providing Computer Tech Help
A carry-in computer repair store: For those who have the money to spend and the time to wait this is a good option. These stores will not only repair, but usually they will give you advice on upgrades to keep your computer at the top of their performance. The downside is that repairs often takes many days. If you need your system repaired quickly, this may not be a good option for you.
Go to Carry-In Computer Repair Technician
An onsite computer technician can be just about anyone. It's not necessarily someone who has all the certifications, in fact it's just like any other trade. Once a technician learns the skills it's fairly easy! Therefore, it is best to work with a computer technician who is backed by a larger corporate structure, one that provides all the background checks and certifications required so that you can be confident in that technician. This option often provides the quickest turn around time on repair and you don’t have to pack up your systems and cables to get them delivered to the store. In this case the store comes to you.
Go to Onsite Computer Tech Support
Those tend to be the most popular options. Most of the time computer repair shops know what they're doing, otherwise they wouldn't be in business. The same is true for corporate or franchised onsite technicians. You know your friends and neighbors well enough to know if they'll do a good job, and whether or not they'll fix anything that they destroy, it all comes down to a judgment call. As for yourself, do you trust yourself? That's one we'll leave up to you.
