Free Computer Repair Software that Actually Works

Free Computer Repair Software has value because many of the computers that average individuals use at home are powered by Windows operating systems.

Those operating systems are user friendly enough for people to get used to and the latest iterations are more stable and do not cause many problems if the user uses the standard built-in features.

However, the programs that are offered by Windows may not suit advanced users or people that wish to do certain tasks.

This leads to some 3rd party programs to be installed and some of them may hamper the system's performance leading to minor slowdowns to more serious crashes if more software is installed.

Other causes of system degradation are the malware that spreads through removable storage devices and Internet channels.

When any of these problems occur and you don't have the budget for any commercial solutions, you will need to rely on free computer repair software.

Some people might be too afraid to use these free solutions because they often deliver mediocre results hence the free cost of using them.

However, any of the free computer software in this list is trusted and actually improves the system performance.

CCleaner

This is the one freeware application that has received rave reviews from all the different tech sites and blogs.

Its installer only takes less than 2 MB making it easy to download and install. Once installed and ran, an easy interface is presented with three main buttons on the side and an options button.

The first button handles the cleaning operations which aim to clear as much hard disk space as possible by eliminating temporary files, cache files, and other stuff that are most likely not used.

It also comes with a registry scanner that cleans out invalid entries to lighten the registry load for minor performance increases.

The last function comprises of an uninstall manager where you can delete orphan entries and uninstall unwanted applications, a startup manager for disabling certain programs so that they won't load on next boot, and a system restore manager that helps clear space by deleting old restore points.

CCleaner is an excellent solution that rivals even the good commercial applications that clean up hard disk space.

AVG Free

None of the Windows versions has a built-in virus scanner as of yet, but Grisoft provides a decent freeware solution called AVG Free.

It is one of the best free computer repair software that solves problems by eliminating the very viruses and Trojans that harm the system.

Although some false positives can be detected, AVG Free remains as a solid solution that has full scan capabilities as well as real-time monitoring which is great for people that are fond of using USB drives from unknown sources.

Installing these two freeware applications do not consume too much disk space and are easy to obtain from the popular public download sites.

There are other free computer repair software programs that work remarkably well, but you should do a background research before you put these programs to use.
